DTN COMMENTS: A few deals have been reported in central Nebraska at $119 to
$120, steady to $1 higher than last week's weighted average, and in Colorado
at $120, fully steady. Some asking prices remain firm around $122 live and
$195 plus dressed. A light to moderate trade took place in the South
yesterday at mostly $120, generally $1 higher than last week's weighted
averages. Some sources are saying that business in this area is essentially
done for the week, although we may see a few cleanup deals. The North
remained rather quiet yesterday, so we should see trade in develop there
sometime today and/or tomorrow. Beef cutouts are expected to be lower, with
light to moderate box movement.
